Headspace continues UK expansion with Southampton opening

Headspace is to expand its UK footprint with a new space in Southampton – its sixth location and first on England’s South Coast.

Grosvenor House

The boutique operator will occupy 4,500 square foot as part of a deal led by sister company BE.Spoke, BE Offices’ managed workspace division, to acquire and develop customised space for a global advisory firm. The site is located within Grosvenor House (Grosvenor Square, Southampton, Hampshire, SO15) and is currently undergoing refurbishment for a January 2020 opening.

The acquisition expands Headspace Group’s portfolio to six locations which also includes spaces in London’s Farringdon and Marylebone, Manchester, Birmingham and Belfast.

The new workspace will be developed as a hub for the area’s tech, media and creative communities, equipped to a high specification and with a dedicated on-site team responsible for curating social and business events for members, ranging from panel discussions and workshops to yoga and social events. The boutique operator counts an array of businesses – from freelancers and startups to tech unicorns and PLCs – amongst its membership base.

Headspace Group was acquired by flexible workspace provider BE Offices in 2017 and has announced its intention to expand the Headspace brand to as many as 20 spaces in coming years.

Fabrizio Nicola-Giordano, Managing Director of Headspace Group, said: “Southampton boasts a world class university, a vibrant community, great transport links and many exciting local businesses. We’re hugely excited to be launching in the area and we’re looking forward to supporting local businesses with a vibrant, inspiring and collaborative workspace.”
